Kendra Burns-Edel serves as a Political Accounts Supervisor in Kaufman Legal Group’s Political Compliance Department, having joined the firm in February 2014. Kendra works with candidates, elected officials and political committees to manage their bank accounts, prepare and file campaign finance reports, and oversee their expenditures while ensuring compliance with campaign finance laws. She manages accounts for numerous federal, state and local clients.
Prior to joining Kaufman Legal Group, Kendra worked as a billing and accounts receivable supervisor for a West Los Angeles law firm. She has also worked as a tutor for elementary students with special needs. Kendra’s path to politics began when she interned with Siskiyou County Supervisor Marsha Armstrong and later Congresswoman Lois Capps. She also worked for Congressman Wally Herger as a district aide, where she gained experience in local and federal government and constituent issues.
Kendra earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Kendra was president of UCSB’s Amnesty International chapter, and volunteered for Direct Relief International in her spare time. She also interned for United to End Genocide in Washington, D.C. Kendra was raised on a ranch in Northern California and has been a resident of Southern California for six years.
